Words from the Publisher

Hey:) I know most of you are familiar with the writings of AW by now. This mysterious and fairly talented writer is a good friend of mine and I hope you've enjoyed her short stories. I'm hoping to convince her to write a storybook one day. Good idea, don't you think? I love AW. AW is like a sibling to me. We share everything with each other. At least that's what I'd like to think. Haha.

Aw encourages me to write my own material and I go for it. I know I may not be as good a writer as AW but I'll give it a shot. Our stories and the way of telling our stories are very different. The one similarity we have is that we write either from experience or feeling. Even if our stories are a mix of fiction and facts, we believe that a good story should be shared with as many people as possible. AW just chooses to be, well, anonymous...

On a personal note, I write only when I feel like it. Even if it seems insignificant and small to some, well, it will always hold some significance to me. The story that I'm about to publish in the coming week is without a doubt a personal one. It's not very well written, the language used is simple, but I'd like to think that you're able to relate to the characters like I know you do with the characters in AW's stories.

Even though I've said that the story is based on a true experience, please don't take too much of it to heart. It happened a long time ago. Everything is fine now. There will always be unresolved, unanswered questions in my mind I can't do anything about. But that's just something I've learned to live with. The story is told based on my side of the experience. Who knows what the other party experienced in the midst of my pain and confusion? I know for a fact that both parties suffered in their own ways. No party was innocent and was left unscarred. Believe me.

Maybe one day he and she will come clean. And I can tell the story the way it really happened. Down to every minor detail. Until I get a hold of the original story, I think I'll leave you with this.

They were too innocent to understand what they were feeling. Too young to have ever known love from someone besides their family and friends. It was no longer a platonic relationship. It was more than that. Every exchanged glance started a fire in both their hearts. They could never look away. ***He was like a beautiful miracle in her eyes. Who could create someone so magnificent? Someone that made her feel like she was invincible.*** He knew he was naive and immature. He knew he couldn't handle such a relationship, with such an amazing girl. She was like no other. This was no minor crush. But this also can't be love. "I don't know what love feels like..." How did a simple exchange of words come to this. A craving for someones presence you just can't let go of. A kilometer of a distance was already too much to bare. How could she let him go? But she did. He's gone. He's gone. He's gone. How could he leave her? But he did. And he never looked back.

The Scar

She lay on her bed, stared up at the ceiling and counted thnumber of patterns she could find, a habit of hers when the world seemed like it was caving in on her. Though she was all too familiar with the patterns, it just seemed like the breath of fresh air she was gasping for, her perfect getaway. It wasn’t as if she was facing major problems, just one that was perpetually there- she felt small, and she despised it. She wasn’t small in the physically challenged sense- in fact she was quite the opposite- but rather unappreciated, insignificant and taken for granted. She closed her eyes and heaved a long sigh, hoping that her problems would just dissipate into thin air. At the thought of it, her lips curled up into a weak smile and then almost immediately, it vanished. Funny how the word ‘air’ seemed so light, she thought, and she knew exactly why. “Because problems just don’t simply disappear into thin air,” she said with an air of sadness. “Unlike me. To them, I just disappear without a trace and they don’t care, they never do. I guess they only have eyes for pretty girls.” A few wisps of suppressed envy were beginning to escape; to circle her mind looking for a place to lodge. -AW

She got up from her bed and paced towards the mirror that stood on her dressing table. She looked into those hazel eyes, brimmed with sympathy that penetrated into the darkest corners of her life. The sorrow, pain, anger, hurt, frustration, jealousy, she could see it all. She was like a dying star, the weight of all her emotions engulfing the little dim light that had once been able to illuminate a room full of people. The incandescent glow from the warmth of her heart had reduced to a charred shell, black and cold. No one would’ve thought that a jaunty young lady like her would ever become so diffident. “That’s life. Expect the unexpected,” she said with a forced laugh as she held a pen in her hand. She inhaled deeply and with every ounce of strength, hauled the pen towards the mirror. She watched it shatter into pieces, just like her life. She bit her lip and broke into soft sobs. I’m going to end this once and for all, she thought. Her eyes darted from a shard of the mirror to her wrist. She picked up the shard, shut her eyes and…

“I guess some days we die a little,” she said with a cackle as she sat on her rocking chair. Her grandchildren that gathered around her watched her, their eyes wide with shock, incredulous that their wise, old, wrinkly grandmother would have attempted suicide. “And then what happened next, gammy?” asked young Suzie earnestly. “Ahh, that’s for me to know, and you to find out,” she tapped Suzie’s nose and winked. “Who’s hungry? I made some scones!” called out a voice from the kitchen. “Ma, do you want some? I made extras.”
“No, no dear, you go ahead. I’m not very hungry,” she replied with a smile.

As the children scrambled to the dining table for the scones, she stared up at the ceiling once again. This time however, not because the world was enclosing on her, but as a sign of gratitude towards the Maker of heaven and earth because the world had seemed to open up as the years went by. She turned her gaze towards her left wrist. The scar from the slit brought taught her many valuable lessons that will always linger in her mind till the day she returns home. The scar reminded her of her foolish actions, her naïve thoughts, but most importantly, the love of her friends and family. While she conjured up all the times spent together with them, her lips slid up into a wide smile. She let out a wheezy laugh and fell into a deep, deep sleep.

What's real and what's not

Yay! I think I'm finally going to get my essay book back tomorrow. FINALLY! At least that's what I hope. *Sighs* I will get it back. The story of Arnold and Sandra. I'm sure some of you that are in on the story want to know what's true and what's false. My estimation is... 70% true and 30% fiction. This may come as a spoiler but I'll just tell you the parts that are true and false. Tomorrow, the FULL story will be up. It was a school English assignment, so I couldn't exactly write a whole storybook, nor tell you the WHOLE story IN DETAIL from START to FINISH but I think this essay says enough. On paper, it's 6 pages long. It may sound like a lot, but trust me, it isn't. I know that some people have read the last paragraph on Facebook. It was a joy reading all your comments. Haha. I just hope my story lives up to your expectations.

Ok, here goes.

  • The way they met - True (except for some minor details)
  • The charming comments exchanged - True
  • Ask of the phone number - False ( h/p no. were exchanged further along the way of their friendship)
  • The easygoing friendship - True
  • The falling for each other - True
  • The phone call (confession of the secret) - False (secret was told much earlier in their friendship)
  • The get-together - True
  • The moving away - True (but not that far *Canada was not involved*)
  • The sudden breakup - False (already broken up when he moved)
  • The new girlfriend - True (lines used in the phone conversation was all true*i thought it was a nice touch, no?*)
  • The breakup with the new girlfriend - True
  • The secret - True
The biggest false was that they never got back together. Arnold never went to see her alone in her room. But he did see her and paid his respects. The aftermath is nothing much really. Their friendship was already 99% gone. She did try to restore it repeatedly but as you can guess, it never worked out.

Characters used in this story may be reading this and I'm sorry. I tried to apologize as forward as possible, but certain characters wouldn't give me the chance to. So, I'm sorry. No feelings were meant to get hurt in the process of writing this story. Thank you and Goodnight.

Taylor Swift Medley

Now I've got AS. Anonymous singer pula. This girl ah....
Here's the mashup
Songs including: Superman, Speak Now, Forever and Always, Mine, Love Story, Today was a Fairytale, Hey Stephen, You Belong with Me

Tall Dark and Superman
He puts his papers in his briefcase and drives away
To save the world or go to work
It's the same thing to me
He's got his mother's eyes, his father's ambition
I wonder if he knows how much that I miss him
And I hang on every word you say
You'll smile and say how are you
And I'll say, Just fine
I always forget to tell you I love you
I loved you from the very first day

Don't say Yes run away now
I'll meet you when you're out of the church at the backdoor
Don't wait or say a single vow
You need to hear me out and they said Speak Now

Cause I watched Superman fly away
You've got a busy day today
To save the world, I'll be around
I watched Superman fly away
Come back I'll be with you someday
I'll be right here on the ground
Till you come back down

I stare at the phone, he still hasn't called
And then you feel so low you can't feel nothing at all
Then you flash back to when we said forever and always

Oh back up, baby back up
Did you forget everything
Back up, baby back up
Did you forget everything?

Cause I remembered how we felt sitting by the water
(Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone)
And everytime I look at you, it's like the first time
(I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run)
You fell in love with a careless man's careful daughter
(You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess)
You are the best thing that's ever been mine
(It's a love story, baby just say yes)

Cause we were both young when I first saw you
Today was a fairytale
Can't you see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can't you see
Can't help it if there's no one else
Mmmm...

Standing by here waiting at your back door
All this time how could you not know baby
You belong with me
You belong with me

I hope AS doesn't mind that I post the lyrics up. Here's the link for facebook. I don't know how to upload a recording on blospot. Hehe

Hope you like it mom:)
